What are injectables?

Injectables are minimally invasive aesthetic treatments delivered by fine-needle injection. There are no incisions, no general anesthesia and no extended downtime. The category spans three core types, each addressing a different concern.

Most patients combine more than one type in a single visit. The plan you leave your consultation with is built around how your own face ages.

The Three Categories

Botox, fillers, biostimulators and when each fits

Each injectable category addresses something different. Knowing the difference is the first step toward a treatment plan that delivers what you want.

  • Neuromodulators (Botox, Dysport, Xeomin) relax specific facial muscles to smooth dynamic wrinkles, the lines that appear when you move your face.
  • Dermal fillers (Juvederm, Restylane, RHA) add volume to areas that have lost it, such as cheeks, lips, under-eye hollows and the jawline. Along with smoothing lines, they restore contour.
  • Biostimulators (Sculptra, Radiesse) stimulate your body to produce its own collagen over weeks and months. They build structural improvement that lasts longer than fillers.

Who injectables are for

Injectables work for patients from their 20s through their 70s. The goal is to look refreshed and rested at whatever age you are. If you are 55, that means a refreshed, rested 55.

Earlier intervention (20s and 30s) tends to be preventive, using small treatments to keep dynamic lines from setting permanently. Later intervention (40s and up) tends to combine neuromodulators with fillers and biostimulators for a compounded effect. Dr. Lee will tell you honestly whether injectables are the right tool for the result you want, or whether lasers, threads or surgery would serve you better.

The Process

What to expect

Here is how an injectable treatment runs at ASA Health MD, from your first consultation to your follow-up visit.

    Consultation

    A 30–60 minute conversation with Dr. Lee. We discuss your goals, review your facial anatomy and outline a realistic plan.

  2. 02

    Treatment plan

    A custom plan setting out which injectables, which areas and in what order. You decide what to go ahead with, with no pressure and no upsell.

  3. 03

    The treatment

    15–30 minutes depending on areas treated. Topical numbing where needed. Most patients describe it as briefly uncomfortable but never painful.

  4. 04

    Same-day return

    There is no general anesthesia. You drive yourself home and get back to work, the gym or your evening plans the same day.

  5. 05

    Follow-up

    A check-in at 2 weeks (Botox) or 6 weeks (fillers) to assess results and refine if needed. Refinement is included.
