ASA Health MD

Brain health guidelines: the protocols that actually work.

An evidence-based, personalized framework for optimum brain function — built from your evaluation findings, layered across lifestyle, nutrition, neurofeedback, targeted supplementation, and medical intervention when indicated.

A focused, healthy individual representing optimum brain function.

The Framework

What brain health actually requires.

There is no single intervention that produces brain health. The evidence base — from cognitive aging research, traumatic brain injury rehabilitation, peak performance optimization, and clinical neurology — points consistently to a layered framework. Foundational habits create the conditions in which more targeted interventions can work. Targeted interventions, applied without those foundations, rarely deliver lasting benefit.

Every brain health protocol at ASA Health MD is built from this framework, personalized to what your evaluation surfaced. We do not run a single protocol on every patient.

The Pillars

Six layers of brain health.

Each layer is essential. The right protocol for you is determined by what your evaluation surfaces — but every patient gets a personalized plan touching most or all of these areas.

  • Sleep architecture — duration, quality, and timing. The single most impactful brain-health intervention available, and where most plans begin.
  • Movement — aerobic, resistance, and balance training calibrated to age and capacity. Direct evidence of neurogenesis and cognitive protection.
  • Nutrition — anti-inflammatory eating patterns, blood-sugar regulation, and targeted nutrition for brain-specific support.
  • Stress regulation — autonomic nervous system work, including breath training, meditation, and sometimes neurofeedback or HRV biofeedback.
  • Targeted supplementation — evidence-based use of specific nutrients, peptides, or compounds for documented gaps or indications.
  • Medical intervention — medication, hormone optimization, or specific protocols when the evaluation indicates them. Never first-line for issues lifestyle interventions can address.

Candidates

Who this is for.

Every ASA Brain patient receives a personalized brain health protocol — this is the actionable output of the evaluation process. The framework is most valuable for patients with concerns about cognitive longevity, attention or memory changes, post-injury optimization, mood and energy regulation, or those simply committed to maintaining peak function as they age.

It is not a pill or a single procedure. It is a multi-month commitment to changes that compound. Patients looking for a quick fix are typically a poor fit. Patients willing to engage with the framework see results that meaningfully shift their day-to-day function.

The Process

From evaluation to integrated protocol.

A brain health protocol is built layer by layer. Here is how it typically unfolds across the first six months.

  1. 01

    Foundation phase

Sleep, movement, nutrition baseline established. Most patients see initial gains in energy, focus, and mood within 4–6 weeks of consistent foundational work.

  2. 02

    Targeted intervention

Based on evaluation findings — qEEG patterns, lab results, history — specific protocols layer in: neurofeedback, peptides, hormone optimization, targeted supplementation.

  3. 03

    Integration check-in

At the 3-month mark, we reassess: symptoms, cognitive screening, sleep data, labs if relevant. Adjust the protocol based on actual response.

  4. 04

    Refinement

Some interventions show clear benefit and become permanent. Others are tapered as foundational habits sustain the gains. The protocol is dynamic, not fixed.

  5. 05

    Long-term maintenance

Most patients move into a long-term maintenance pattern — quarterly or semi-annual check-ins, periodic re-evaluation, continued lifestyle integration.

Why ASA Health MD

Brain health, done seriously.

  • Personalized, not template

Your protocol is built from your evaluation findings — not pulled off a shelf. Two patients with similar symptoms can receive very different recommendations.

  • Evidence-based

We use interventions with real research support. We do not chase the latest brain-health trend. If the evidence is thin, we wait.

  • Layered, not stacked

Foundations first. Targeted interventions only when they will compound with the foundations — not as a substitute for them.

  • Physician-directed

Dr. Lee designs and adjusts the protocol. Patient progress is monitored by the same physician across the journey — not handed off.
